Hypericum perforatum is a homeopathic remedy commonly used for wounded or injured nerves with pain that is shooting. It has also been employed for bug bites and burns. The remedy is made from a flowering plant commonly known as St John's wort. Indigenous to Europe, it's been introduced to many temperate areas of the world and grows wild in many meadows. The herb's common name comes from its traditional flowering and harvesting date - St John's day, June 24th.
